Brother Richard kicks the show off by talking about his trip to LA and ends the show by singing “Burqas for Jesus.” And while everything that comes before it is diminished by the horrid taint of his terrible singing, as long as you turn off the show before he starts, you should be OK.
This week: don’t think that just because you’re only one year old you’ll escape the awesome and ridiculous intolerance of religion, God has plans for your heath care, the Army of the ALMIGHTY is privatizing, Ben Stein learns what the true meaning of EXPELLED is, more good news from the APA, the Catholics have no idea what they are doing with your money and you now have the freedom to do whatever you want with your goat. Congratulations!

Just wanted to point out that you are committing the naturalistic fallacy when you say that it’s moral to eat animals because it’s natural. Humans can live a healthy, long life on a vegetarian diet. I would suggest you read Peter Singer (an atheist and Richard Dawkins has referred to him as the most moral person he knows) for a well thought-out perspective on the morality of eating animals. I would also suggest you read Consider the Lobster by David Foster Wallace who is not a vegetarian. http://www.gourmet.com/magazine/2000s/2004/08/consider_the_lobster?currentPage=7
“Is it not possible that future generations will regard our own present agribusiness and eating practices in much the same way we now view Nero’s entertainments or Aztec sacrifices? My own immediate reaction is that such a comparison is hysterical, extreme—and yet the reason it seems extreme to me appears to be that I believe animals are less morally important than human beings;20 and when it comes to defending such a belief, even to myself, I have to acknowledge that (a) I have an obvious selfish interest in this belief, since I like to eat certain kinds of animals and want to be able to keep doing it, and (b) I have not succeeded in working out any sort of personal ethical system in which the belief is truly defensible instead of just selfishly convenient.”
Heh — when Joe was talking about teh gays, he pronounced ‘analyzing’ as ‘anal-izing.’ It sounded completely unconscious, and Brother Richard didn’t hear it, but my wife and I did, and declared it funny.

Just listening to your back episodes.
Hey! socialized healthcare is just fine here in Canada. Those Rethuglicans take a few horror stories and present them as the status quo. I can’t stand those lying bastards slandering my country like that.
My wife had breast cancer and our only out of pocket expenses were travel related. She was treated in a new hospital with up to date equipment.
As for “wait” time it was less than a month between “Honey does this feel like a lump to you?” to “Lumpectomy”
It’s my impression that our experience is the status quo and the horror stories are the rare exceptions.
