Well golly. It’s been a while hasn’t it?
In my defense, only most of the wait for this show is due to the paralyzing haze of lethargy that has settled on me since I quit smoking. Once we got it recorded, my power went out and my computer decided it wouldn’t start up again for several days. Yes, yes, I keep saying I’m going to fix it, but then, a few days later, it starts up again and works for another three months and I can’t justify spending money on a new parts when the old ones work like… 75% of the time.
I’m pretty sure my computer gets more annual vacation time than the average Teamster. I’m kind of jealous.
None of this has anything to do with the news.
The show, let’s see, that was a few days ago… oh yeah!
Pretty-much everyone who was organizing wussed out on this one, but there was one Facebook group that kept it together.
Any like I said on the show, if you are a listener and you did some art, send it my way, I’ll post it on the site. We don’t need a day to fight for our rights, we have all year long.

By the way, I hate Comcast. I was just sitting here fuming with impotent rage at how shitty they are to their customers. Then I realized that I could tell you guys about it and it made me feel better. I am now trying to think of a way to tastefully incorporate a Comcast logo and dog-balls into my Muhammad drawing. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

I totally think that circumcision should be illegal… and I’m circumcised myself! I’ve totally had pain and sensitivity issues from that crap and yes… I’m a more than a little pissed at my parents for going along with that barbaric tradition! Seriously… fuck that shit! If I ever have kids myself… no circumcision… no genital mutilation… no fucking way!

Different Subject, but important…i, and many othere that read/listen here…need help…i am elderly, disabled, breast cancer surgery two times in 3 1/2 years, weak, chronic pain, anxiety attacks, ptsd, etc. i live off of 700 dollars a month ss disability for all my expenses. my home needs a new roof, i have damages from roof leaks, my kitchen was ripped out due to black mold, if i had money, i would buy me a shiny new kitchen. etc.
i got a notice in mail today from travis county, tx usa, that the disability tax deferral has been removed and all my taxes are due immediately…or there will be a sheriff’s auction in a few months.
i have no way to pay for these inflated real estate taxes. what can i do? any words to the wise are appreciated. who do i go to ?
i am not the only one this is happening to…there are thousands of elderly/disabled baby boomers , parents that have adult children with kids, that have moved ‘back-home’. lots of people have lost their jobs/incomes. we can’t take these inflated taxes any more. everything costs an arm and a leg here in travis county, texas…
i thought maybe i could get/start a 501-c and sign over my house, possibly using it as a meeting/work space/place. maybe i could rent a room from the 501-c for me to sleep in…
how does this work? i do not want to lose my home. i have a dog, and yard chickens, and a small garden. i really would have meetings, give talks/speeches…what can i do? thank you for your response.

I think that circumcision is on it’s way out. When my son was born the pediatrician said that she found it ridiculous that mothers would want to have a “natural” childbirth and then immediately modify their child. She indicated that in her practice about 35-40% of boys have the procedure done. Down from about 95% when she first went into practice. She also said that the cleanliness issues that people raise are only in affect if you don’t teach your child to wash himself.

Jane: It looks like you are in a bad way! The first thing I’d do is contact atheist groups local to me. You can find them on meetup.com or on atheistnexus.org. There are secular charities popping up all over the place these days, there might be one in your area that can help you. At the very least, there might be some strapping young men and women that might be willing to come out and help around your house.
It looks like you might live in Texas? I would contact the Secular Center. I don’t know how close you are to them, but maybe they can help you. http://www.secularcenterusa.org.
I wish there was more that I could do. I’ll talk to Richard and see if he knows of anyone that might be able to help.
